What is Honda Service Pass?

Honda Service Pass is the new complimentary maintenance program offered to retail customers on all new and eligible Honda vehicles 2023 or later (excluding Honda Battery Electric Vehicles).

 

Retail vehicles under this program will be provided certain scheduled services as recommended by the vehicle’s Maintenance Minder system or otherwise as set within the Owner’s Manual.

 

The Maintenance Minder services A1 and B1 are covered under this plan. These scheduled maintenance services include oil changes with a multipoint inspection, oil filters, and tire rotations. Learn more about the Maintenance Minder services and codes below.

Please note: Honda Service Pass coverage is not eligible until Oil Life reaches 15% or below.

While vehicles have recommended schedules for various maintenance based on their mileage, the Maintenance Minder system uses sensors in the vehicle to determine when various routine maintenance items should take place.
The Maintenance Minder provides drivers with an “A” or “B” when service is needed, often followed by a number. Here’s a breakdown of what the service codes mean:

A – Replace engine oil
B – Replace engine oil and oil filter, check front and rear brakes, check parking brake adjustment, inspect tie-rod ends, steering gearbox, and gearbox boots, inspect suspension components, inspect driveshaft boots, inspect brake hoses and lines including VSA lines, inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids, inspect exhaust system, inspect fuel lines and connections

Sub-Codes

1 – Rotate tires, and check tire inflation and condition
2 – Replace air cleaner element, replace dust and pollen filter, inspect drive belt
3 – Replace automatic transmission fluid
4 – Replace spark plugs, Inspect valve clearance (cold)
5 – Replace engine coolant
6 – Replace rear differential fluid (AWD models)
7 – Replace brake fluid

  • The maintenance minder services A and B with a possible add-on 1 (Tire Rotation) are covered under this plan. These scheduled maintenance services include oil changes with a multipoint inspection, oil filters, and tire rotations.
  • Honda Service Pass expires at either two (2) years or 24,000 miles (whichever occurs first) after the date of first use (DOFU) as determined by the Retail Delivery Record (RDR).
  • Plan expires upon the vehicle title being changed to “salvaged” or similar, regardless of age or mileage.
  • Additional maintenance costs and/or any unused services at the time of plan expiration or salvage title are forfeited.
  • All maintenance must be performed using Honda Genuine Motor Oil & Parts.
  • Plan is only valid at participating Honda dealers located within the United States. Vehicles purchased outside of the U.S. are not eligible for this plan.
  • Honda Service Pass eligibility is assigned at the time of the new vehicle RDR. Eligibility follows the VIN and a vehicle will retain this status for the plan period, regardless of ownership changes.
  • Dealerships are not eligible to redeem Honda Service Pass services for in-stock, demo, or Honda Courtesy Rental vehicles in or out of their inventory.
  • Honda Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are not eligible for this plan.
  • Any vehicles sold or used (at the discretion of AHM) for commercial fleet, rental, taxi or livery, are not eligible under this plan.
